Troy M. Granger, CIC
Vice President
Troy first entered the Insurance Industry in 1984. After a brief stint with Farm Bureau, he went to work as a Producer for a small start-up agency whose main focus was Personal Insurance. After 6 years, he had built up a significant client base, but felt that he had maximized his growth potential in his current situation, so he opted to explore other opportunities in the insurance world. After exploring a variety of options, he joined Trustee in 1991. With his background in Personal Lines, he quickly learned that at Trustee there was much more opportunity in the Commercial Lines arena. After a short time, he changed his main focus to working on Commercial Insurance opportunities, but without ever abandoning his Personal Lines roots. When Troy first joined Trustee, he was told by his mentors that there was an opportunity for perpetuation and ownership if he were to work hard and make himself a valued asset to the company. In 1996 that promise was fulfilled when he was first offered shares of stock. Currently Troy serves as Vice President and is one of the principal shareholders.
Before entering the insurance world, Troy attended the University of Utah for a few years, before finally devoting all of his focus and educational pursuits to what would become his profession. In 1996 he earned his CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation. He served as the President of the Salt Lake Chapter of Independent Insurance Agents of Utah. During this time, he was also honored by the same organization, and was presented their Young Agent of the Year award. Troy has served on numerous agent councils including Colorado Casualty/Liberty Mutual, and WCF (Workers Compensation Fund of Utah).
Away from work Troy enjoys a variety of leisure activities including but not limited to being outdoors, golfing, playing tennis, and traveling. He also loves spending time with his wife (Diana), his children, and his grandchildren, enjoying regular barbecues and family gatherings.
Josh Wittwer, CIC
Corporate Officer, Senior AE
Josh joined Trustco in January of 2002 as a Personal Lines producer. He had planned to pursue a career at Morgan Stanley after a 2-year internship but couldn't withstand the siren song of insurance at Trustco. He preferred the broad customer base that Trustco serves and was impressed by Trustco's perpetuation history and the prospect of being involved in management and potentially ownership one day.
After focusing on personal lines for a few years, Josh began to work commercial accounts and now focuses mainly on commercial and high net worth personal lines. His book is spread among various classes of business. He has served in several industry capacities with the Young Agents Association, on agency advisory panels and recently led an lnsurtech symposium for agents throughout the Northwest. Josh became a shareholder & corporate officer of Trustco in 2016 and works as Secretary Treasurer.
He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Classical Civilizations. He's held a CIC designation since 2007.
The majority of non-insurance hours are spent with his wife Kathryn and their four kids. Hobbies include mediocre golf and collecting inconvenient amounts of vinyl records. He loves to travel, especially if a concert is involved, and is an avid devotee of wearing awesome socks. The family is very active in the Down Syndrome awareness effort and spends time fundraising, educating and enjoying the special needs community.
